In June 2018, I had the opportunity to visit Los Cabos — the collective name given to two towns, glitzy Cabo San Lucas and the more local, laidback San José del Cabo — on Mexico’s Baja Peninsula.

Specifically, I got an insider’s look at Quivira, a spectacular master-planned community with world-class accommodations.

For a few days, I got a taste of the sweet life in Los Cabos, staying at the Pueblo Bonito Pacifica resort on the Quivira property.

Take a look at this view:

Pueblo Bonito Pacifica resort

The design… the weather… the whole feel of the place screams Southern California luxe.

The community stretches over 1,850 acres of rolling hills, striking desert valleys, dramatic cliff sides and three miles of soft sand beaches.

The list of amenities owners and tenants of properties at Quivira enjoy is impressive, to say the least…

There is a restaurant for every palate, an award-winning spa, a row of gauzy cabanas right next to the water and an oceanside golf course designed by none other than renowned professional golfer Jack Nicklaus.

Each one of the 18 holes boasts a breathtaking view. No matter your level of skill, the scenery alone makes it well worth your time to play a round — or two.

See what I mean?

On Quivira’s Nicklaus Design golf course, it’s hard to line up your shot without getting distracted by the view.

While it’s easy to get taken in by the surrounding beauty, the thing that really stands out to me about Quivira is the infrastructure and attention to detail.

Newer sections of the resort are still being built, but the completed areas are filled with hand-laid brick roads, winding golf cart paths and smooth sidewalks perfect for an evening stroll.

And there is free shuttle service that will take you anywhere you want to go on the property. That way residents and guests can enjoy their time to the fullest without the hassle of navigating unfamiliar roads, traffic or parking.

That was my impression in June 2018. I can’t wait to see the progress since then. Good thing I won’t have to wait long…

Tomorrow, I leave for Cabo.

In part to check on my investment — I bought a condo here through Real Estate Trend Alert. In part to meet with Ronan, the brains behind RETA — who has happily made Cabo his winter base. And in part for the pleasure — to hit pause for a moment and unwind.

I snapped this pic on a sunset stroll — just my iPhone, no filter.

I like a constant spring. Temperatures in the 70s… low humidity… a perpetual soft breeze. And Cabo has the perfect weather year-round.

I’m not the only one who thinks so…

Cabo gets around 3 million visitors annually. Most of them (seven out of 10) are repeat guests — and 90% of first-time visitors say they would return to Cabo. That says something about the charm of the place.

And it’s super-easy to get to Cabo. The airport offers direct flights to 33 global cities — and new flights are being added every day. It’s possible to fly to Cabo from 24 U.S. cities in three hours or so.

Travel + Leisure named it one of the best places to visit in 2019… Lonely Planet says it’s “made for decadence”… Fodor’s ranks it as “Mexico’s ultimate seaside escape”…

It’s undeniable — Cabo’s appeal is unique.

Which is why I am stoked to own an incredible property there. I invested in a two-bedroom, 2½-bath condo in Mavila, a subdivision of the larger five-star, master-planned community of Quivira.

I heard about this deal through Ronan McMahon’s Real Estate Trend Alert. RETA members were offered unbelievable pricing and terms on these luxury condos, including a 10-year developer finance package.

The deal was a no-brainer…

So I stepped outside my comfort zone and took the plunge.

Man — am I glad I did! I haven’t taken delivery of my condo yet (so I haven’t been able to tap into Cabo’s rental market) but back in March the developer kicked off a wide-scale marketing launch… at prices more than $97K above what my fellow RETA members and I paid.

I’m still turning over the idea of keeping my condo for personal use and renting it for part of the year… or selling it on and reinvesting the capital gains in another property somewhere else.

One awesome benefit of being a RETA member is that we get access to one killer deal after another — before even the most well-connected locals hear about them.

But each development, each city, each country… is different.

So another benefit of being a RETA member is that you also get opportunities to visit these amazing places — to evaluate and enjoy them in person. (These trips are called MOSTs, members-only scouting trips, and they’re exclusive to RETA members.)

My trip tomorrow isn’t a MOST… I won’t get the added perk of mingling with fellow members and talking shop about our investments… but I am connecting with Ronan to download his insights into the next few months.

Keep an eye out next week for my exclusive report from Cabo…
